Global Council For Tolerance And Peace: Regardless of race, gender, origin, religion, or belief, it is well known that nations from all over the world strive to promote the security, peace, stability, and happiness of all people. The international community has observed a continuous growth in global and regional hostilities that have broken out during the past decades and claimed millions of lives worldwide, despite efforts to prevent international and regional disagreements and conflicts. The vision of wise people around the world thus calls for cooperative international action that seeks to spread a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, uphold human values, and support points of rapprochement between peoples. This is in line with the current UN direction, which considers tolerance and peace to be an urgent necessity and has been emphasized by UN Secretary-General, Mr Antonio Gutierrez, in numerous international events.
Thus, the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) was established to accomplish these goals. The GCTP is an international organization that uses democratic principles, international law, and charters as its methodology. It also serves as a global space and platform for the purposes of tolerance, peace, and lofty humanitarian goals.
The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace was established in 2017 by nine prominent individuals in the field of Tolerance and Peace from all around the world, including H.E. Ahmed Al Jarwan, who was chosen to serve as its first president. The Maltese government has granted it benefits and privileges in return for establishing its headquarters there.
The GCTP Composition
The Constituent Assembly is made up of well-known and respected individuals from over the world who have a sterling reputation, a prominent position, and a strong track record of tolerance and peace.
The International Parliament is GCTP’s legislative body. Members of the national legislatures should also be members of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace. In parliament, there needs to be representation for women, young people, and those with disabilities.
The General Assembly is a yearly gathering of those who care about international acceptance, safety, and peace. Its goals include researching methods for fostering tolerance and peace and removing barriers that prevent the implementation of standards set by the UN.
GCTP At The Forefront
The Council is keen to be updated on the current trends, considering the important role that it is playing as an observer at the Interparliamentary Union (IPU). The GCTP is at the forefront of tackling and collaborating to solve the current trends facing the world to make it a better world. The council has the potential to make a significant impact in several areas:
Conflict Resolution: Religion, culture, and ethnicity can cause conflict between groups and cause extremism and terrorism. Being engaged in promoting peaceful resolutions and transformative conflicts, the council is being representatives from different nations (being members of the IPTP), and different NGOs and academic institutions (as members of the General Assembly) to foster dialogue and help bridge divides and find common ground. The council is also encouraging cultural exchange programs that promote understanding and appreciation by organizing events, conferences, workshops, and academic programs (such as Masters program in tolerance studies and global peace) to facilitate dialogue between different communities, fostering mutual respect and tolerance and preparing tolerance advocates and peacebuilders.
- Advocating Human Rights: the council is working on creating a more just and equitable world by highlighting human rights abuses and working toward their eradication.
- Addressing Hate speech and encouraging love speeches, the council identified the important role that Social media is playing and is working on fostering love speech through awareness and education, interfaith dialogue, social media platforms, and youth engagement.
- Climate change can cause resource scarcity, displacement, and war. Peace requires international cooperation on this subject and raising awareness; by advocating for sustainable development practices and encouraging cooperation, the council is helping mitigate the effect of climate change.
Further, education, dialogue, and cooperation are necessary to promote tolerance and peace worldwide.
Technology Blended Development
Technology can promote peace and tolerance. Examples of how technology is advancing these goals:
- Targeted social media initiatives promote tolerance and peace. Organizations can utilize hashtags and influencers to promote unity and understanding.
- Online education: Online education platforms can offer resources on tolerance, peace, conflict resolution, interfaith dialogue, and cultural awareness.
- Virtual reality: Immersive VR experiences can foster empathy and understanding among diverse groups.
- Peacebuilding applications: Many mobile apps encourage peacebuilding and conflict resolution.
- Data analysis: Big data analytics can assist governments in establishing peace initiatives by identifying patterns of conflict and violence.

He also led the council to be recognized by many national and international parliaments, such as the Arab parliament, Pan Africa, Parlatino, Parlasor, and many others. He continues to fight discrimination, violence, terrorism, and racism.
The Road Ahead
Developing awareness about causes of violence and intolerance within a spirit of cooperation and peace is at the forefront of GCTP’s future, in addition to promoting education based on tolerance and respect through their master’s program in tolerance studies and global peace.
GCTP is leveraging both business diplomacy and religious diplomacy to advance its mission of promoting tolerance and peace worldwide by addressing economic and religious dimensions in its efforts to foster understanding, dialogue, and cooperation among nations and communities.
GCTP further wants to encourage the practice of tolerance to maintain peace, justice, and respect for human rights through best practices and success stories that they share through their book series. Next, they want to expand their network and collaborations through their international parliament for tolerance and peace to reach more than 150 state members and their general assembly to reach more than 100 academic institutions, NGOs, and individuals.
All in all, GCTP wants to promote dialogue between different cultures and communities in the world. This includes supporting initiatives that unite people to discuss common challenges and opportunities.
