We all need to drink. And plain water simply won’t cut it for most people. That is why beverage businesses have evolved to be some of the biggest in the world. Just think Heineken, Red Bull – or the biggest of them all – Coca-Cola. But if you are trying to brand a beverage business, you will already know that you are entering a world which is packed with competition. However, the excitement lies in knowing that you need just a small share of the market to make big profits. So, let’s look at some of the main marketing areas which you need to focus on closely to get customers thirsty for your product.

  • Package Your Product Properly
  • Hosting Events
  • Social Media and Influencer Marketing

Package Your Product Properly

When it comes to drinks products, first impressions count. Even if you have the tastiest drink in the world, people aren’t going to try it if the packaging looks disgusting. So, you obviously need to have a clear and instantly recognisable logo like Mountain Dew, but you also need to look at the types of packaging which is available. Do you want something simple or a little more unique? You obviously want to choose something which makes your drink look irresistible, but you also need to make sure that it preserves its flavour well at the same time.

Hosting Events

Hosting events is a natural fit for a drinks business as it gives everyone the opportunity to sample the beverage which you have created. You could partner with a local restaurant or supermarket to host the event there. Alternatively, you could branch out to host one on your own. There are various types of event which could prove to be successful, but the most important thing is that plenty of people get to try your drink so that you can start spreading some positive word-of-mouth.

Social Media and Influencer Marketing

Beverage businesses have been quick to adopt modern marketing methods surrounding social media and influencer marketing – and your business needs to do the same. You need to set up, maintain and promote a range of social media accounts. Photographic and video content tends to be especially effective for drinks products. You can also team up with some influencer marketers to spread the good word of your product far and wide. A lot of new drinks products are purchased by younger consumers, so you need to make sure that you are ready to target them in any way that you can.

Of course, launching and marketing a beverage business is never going to be easy. At the same time, you don’t want to think that it is impossible. New drinks companies are achieving success every day, and you could be one of them with the right marketing strategy in place. As we mentioned at the start, people are always going to be on the lookout for new and innovative drinks products. And we can all raise a toast to that!
